Job Overview
Working under general direction, designs specialty tools or fixtures for various in-house manufacturing processes and R&D activities. Incumbents perform one or more of the following design phases: 1) Identify the need, 2) Understand the affected processes, 3) Design conception, 4) CAD modeling, 5) Detail drafting, 6) Coordinate build activities, 7) Implement Tool.
Requirements/Education: A Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Manufacturing, Tool Engineering, a related field, or equivalent. Typically a minimum of three years of relevant precision fixture and production tooling experience. Demonstrated mechanical and shop fabrication knowledge required. Demonstrated verbal and written analytical/problem solving, communication, interpersonal skills required. Demonstrated personal computer skills including spreadsheet, word processing and data base management capabilities. Evaluation, originality and/or ingenuity required.
Desired Requirements: Medical industry experience. Computer aided design experience; 3D Solid Modeling & CNC Programming experience. Experience with the manufacturing of capacitors. Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) & Statistical Process Control (SPC).
